BRIDGES' Girls Circles/Mini-Camp Sessions
Bring the 'Camp Experience' to
YOU

BRIDGES Camp offers empowering after-school sessions that are affordable, local and on-going throughout the year. These Mini-Camps are uniquely developed for each group of 6-10 girls, using the BRIDGES’ Girls Circle structured peer support group model.  Girls Circles are facilitated by BRIDGES' Director, Laurie Sliva.

What is BRIDGES' Girls Circle?

*   Structured support groups that integrate relational theory, resiliency practices, and skills training in a specific format designed to increase positive connection, personal and collective strengths, and  competence in girls

*   Encourages girls to share experiences that are helpful to each other

*   When girls voice their ideas, opinions, and feelings in a safe environment, it strengthens their confidence and self-esteem and encourages them to express themselves more fully and critically think through their behavior and choices

*   Girls Circle is recognized as a “promising approach” in the Model Programs Guide (Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention):  Outcomes showed significant increases in self-efficacy, body image, and social connection
